OUR HISTORY
Crane Point Industrial LLC’s roots go back to 1992, when Ian Carter worked in the forestry and lumber industry. He had a pallet lumber customer who desperately needed to find a nail made with higher precision for his Viking machines. Ian and JoAnne entered entrepreneurship in 1996, initially starting as North American Nails. The small company was formed in response to the new market demand for durable, reliable pallet fasteners. The business thrived in the steel industry with a few select customers, high hopes, and a container or two of nails per month. Over the years, they continued the momentum of their business growth and built success by sticking to a few core principles: hard work, integrity, optimism, and dependability.
In 2011, Crane Point Industrial became Master Distributors for Max, Hitachi, Makita, Stanley Bostitch, DeWalt, and several other minor brands of tools. Later in 2013, we opened our wholesale division to supply construction fasteners and supplies. Since the beginning, we have been dedicated to our growing family of partners and suppliers. We even have a few loyal customers that have been around since the lumber days.
Fast forward three decades, we now import over 80 Truck Loads of nails per month. The Crane Point Industrial family is proud to be ever adapting and growing with the opportunities provided by our customers. To show our appreciation, we aim to improve the future of our customers, suppliers, employees, shareholders, and communities by offering reliable, quality fastener solutions. The expansion comes with a solid team, and our people are our greatest asset.
ASSOCIATIONS
For over 25 years, we have been proud members of many national associations, including the National Wooden Pallet and Container Association (NWPCA) and Specialty Tools and Fasteners Distributors Association (STAFDA). Our Co-Founder, Ian Carter, has been an active participant on committees for these associations since the start of North American Nails to now Crane Point Industrial.

Headquartered in Oregon, Crane Point Industrial is supported by employees from warehousing and distribution in four states. Teams from our Portland, Houston, Baltimore, and Long Beach locations work together to provide our customers with quality fasteners that we are proud to stand behind. While our employees come from diverse backgrounds and specialties, we all have one thing in common: the pride we take in our work.
